New record of people enrolled in the TrainAction online platform
July is a great month to learn more about citizen security and justice. Six hundred and thirty-eight men and women haver enrolled in three study courses this month on the online Academy offered by InfoSegura Regional Project, an initiative of the UNDP in partnership with USAID. The courses and trainings that are available on TrainAction are geared towards building capacities needed in decision making processes for citizen security policies.
Tools for Territorial Analysis of Citizen Security Level 1 (281 people enrolled), Citizen Security Policy Impact Assessment (208 people enrolled) and Citizen Security, Justice and Social Cohesion (149 people enrolled), are the three courses to expand knowledge on citizen security. Among the students are decision makers, technical teams, public employees, members of academia and researchers in the civil society organizations from different countries in Central America and the Dominican Republic.
During the first six months in 2023, TrainAction participants have included ministers, deputy ministers, area directors, security force directors and leaders of social organizations who engaged in training processes, and motivated their work teams to do the same.
Over the course of these months, in addition to delivering content as usual, synchronic lectures by subject-matter experts will be expanded, as well as discussion forums and workshop and hands-on sessions, among other activities. The concepts, methodologies and tools presented during the courses are a point-of-entry and a contribution to addressing security in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, the Dominican Republic and Panama, the countries where the UNDP InfoSegura Regional Project is being implemented.
Throughout this year, TrainAction is set to develop new modules and courses on a variety of issues linked to youth, security and peacebuilding; violence prevention by police force and tools for territorial analysis of criminal phenomena, among others.
