Strategic advice for the design and implementation of public policies, strategic plans and regulatory frameworks for citizen security, coexistence, and violence against women and girls with a territorial focus. The InfoSegura regional project has supported the creation of three citizen security and coexistence policies in countries where the Project is being implemented.

 

Technical assistance provided in designing and conducting surveys on citizen security, violence against women and girls, youth, cybercrime, perception of criminal justice and violence against the LGBITQ+ community, as well as victimization modules administered as part of household surveys.

Data analysis on citizen security in order to inform:

  • Creation of public policies, strategies and lines of action for citizen security, coexistence and violence against women and girls.
  • Monitoring policies on matters such as citizen security and gender-based violence. The Project supports the preparation of analysis that makes it possible to visualize the evolution of national strategies and programs and institutional responses to them. In addition, the analysis of data provided by the Belice Crime Observatory helped justify the approval of a Violence against Women and Girls Act.

     

 

Development of innovative solutions and tools, contributing to transparency, violence prevention and targeting strategies. Within this framework, the InfoSegura Regional Project has accompanied the development of:

  • Information systems and open data portals for citizen security and justice, contributing to transparency as a fundamental basis for all phases of the citizen security policy cycle. Tools supported:

  3. School Violence Warning System(SALVE 4.0) in El Salvador
  4. Open Data Portal in Citizen Security at the Subsecretariat for Security in Honduras
  5. Integrated Information System for Policies of Coexistence and Citizen Security at the Subsecretariat for Security in Honduras
  6. Judicial Statistics System of the Judicial Branch in Honduras

 

  • Judicial statistics digitization platform in Honduras, with over one million Judicial Branch records (case files).
  • Technological platforms for integrated data on security and justice, enabling multidimensional analysis and data display in Guatemala, Belize and Honduras.

Capacity buildingon the platform TrainAction, where the InfoSegura learning community opens a space for decision-makers, technical staff of institutions that generate and make use of citizen security information, academia and civil society organizations, based on targeted programming to enhance analytical, contextual and management capacities in the area of citizen security.
