The UNDP InfoSegura Regional Project is committed to innovation to promote the use and analysis of data regarding citizen security and justice. Based on a multidimensional vision, institutions in Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and the Dominican Republic are supported in designing and implementing evidence-based citizen security policies with that are gender responsive. Improving the lives of individuals and contributing to more peaceful, just and cohesive societies is our purpose.

Technical and strategic advice, data analysis, development of innovative digital solutions and tools, prioritization indexes or the development of information systems and open data portals for citizen security and justice are some of the services that the Project implements hand in hand with national institutions, in order to strengthen citizen security management.

We work to incorporate the gender approach in citizen security policies, recognizing the intersectionality and cultural diversity of gender and ethnic identities.

The surveys the Project implements make it possible to capture other types of data and information that administrative records fail to provide. This tool makes it possible to measure perceptions of insecurity, levels of victimization or citizen trust in institutions.
