- Homicides decreased by 12.8% in 2022 with regard to the previous year.
- In 2022, records show a homicide rate of 35.8 per 100,000 population, which is the lowest in the last decade.
- Homicides under investigation exhibit a 17% increase.
- 45% of homicides are associated with social conflict and other causes not attributable to organized crime.
- Male homicide decreased by 13% and female homicide by 10% in relation to the previous year.
- Female homicide women in private spaces exhibit a higher percentage (20%) compared to males (9%).
- 40% of homicide victims are between 18 and 30 years of age.
- The use of firearms in homicides reached 77.3% and 68.7% in males and females, respectively.
- 145 municipalities reduced the number of homicides. 34 municipalities maintained the same number of homicides. In 2022, records show 44 municipalities with zero homicides.
- 86 out of every 100 reported victims of sexual offenses are women (2021)
- Suicides of women decreased by 6%.
- Reports by females are primarily regarding sexual crime, domestic violence e intrafamily violence. At younger ages, more sexual crimes are reported; as age increases, domestic and intra-family violence accrue more complaints.
