UNDP has a long track record in the region of working with public institutions and civil society. This is one of the great strengths of the UNDP InfoSegura Regional Project. The project draws on the knowledge, technical support and network of specialists provided by the Bureau for Latin America and the Caribbean (RBLAC), based in New York, and the UNDP Regional Hub for Latin America and the Caribbean, (RSC-LAC), based in Panama.
The Office is headed by the UNDP Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Michelle Muschet. In Panama, José Cruz-Osorio is Regional Hub Manager. UNDP goals in the region are to enhance human development, improve lives, empower citizens and build more resilient nations.
The Regional Center in Panama supports 24 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean. RSC-LAC provides country offices and other clients with accessible services, technical support and a trusted source of knowledge, experience and resources from experts and practitioners. It works through country offices to assist governments and individuals to forge customized solutions to development challenges, in order to strengthen local capacities.
