New DatAction season starting
The community of practice, experience sharing and knowledge management with UNDP InfoSegura Regional Project is back, renewed. Next Thursday, March 30, DatAction Season Six begins. This innovative initiative emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic and so far, 58 episodes have aired with over 2,100 participants from 36 different countries.
Episode one of Season Six will feature Marcela Smutt, Coordinator of InfoSegura Regional Project, introducing the analysis of citizen security and violence against women and girls in Central America and the Dominican Republic. Next, Ana Marcela López, InfoSegura Project analyst will analyze the state of human mobility in the countries in the north of Central America. Jairo Acuña Alfaro, Team Leader for Governance at UNDP Latin America and the Caribbean will inaugurate the new season.
DatAction strives to link and energize national and local institutions, academia and civil society, shedding light on the work they do to improve the citizen security indicators in the region. The InfoSegura community of practice promotes the exchange of knowledge, as well as the discussion of analysis about the state of citizen security, justice and social cohesion in the region with an emphasis on presenting innovative solutions for security.
The online episodes will air throughout the year. DatAction will also deploy new forms of interaction. Forums and exchanges will help to consolidate and enhance knowledge management and experience sharing, to improve the quality of evidence-based citizen security and justice policies.
For nine years, the UNDP InfoSegura Regional Project in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) have worked with national and local institutions and civil society, promoting innovative solutions that contribute to improving people’s lives and consolidate societies that are more peaceful, just and cohesive.
