TRAINACTION: UNDP InfoSegura inaugurates ninth edition of the Course on Citizen Security, Justice and Social Cohesion
In all, there were 120 participants from El Salvador and the Dominican Republic in the ninth cohort of the Initial Course on Citizen Security, Justice and Social Cohesion, as part of the TrainAction platform of the UNDP InfoSegura Regional Project, with the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
This edition will be attended by technical teams and specialists from the Office of the Public Defender of the Republic of El Salvador, and officials from the Public Defender's Office, the Ministry of Women's Affairs and civil society organizations from the Dominican Republic.
The training programme provides basic conceptual and methodological elements for the comprehensive and effective management of citizen security in the region, within the framework of the objectives and goals of the 2030 Agenda, through case analysis and examples that foster the development and strengthening of analytical, contextual, communicative and critical thinking skills in the participants.
The course contents are divided into three modules:
- Governance and citizen security management in Latin America
- Technology applied to citizen security: Tools, data and analysis
- Citizen security policies: Design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
Each of these modules provides the conceptual foundation, case analysis, discussion forums, implementation of various interactive tools and multimedia resources such as podcasts, videos, infographics, etc. so that participants can complement their previous experience, learn about new contexts and dynamics of security management in the region and have recourse to robust tools to provide a comprehensive response in their institutional work.
